Dear North Point Family and especially Parents,

Our special PURITY WEEK events kick off this evening with the first of our women’s meetings.  Each meeting this week, whether for the women, men, or youth, is built to engage the issue of staying morally pure in a culture that does not value, nor promote purity.

Because of the sensitive and direct communication that is taking place this week, if you are parents of youth or younger children, it is imperative that you consider their level of maturity as to whether or not they participate in any of the above meetings.  Frankly, you must be careful not to over-estimate the maturity of your youth, for that could do just the opposite of what our intent is for the week.

In light of the above, please exercise great caution in considering whether pre-college age youth should attend either the men’s or women’s meetings.  I encourage you to discuss your thoughts with a pastor, elder, or NDOW leader.  Middle school and high school youth will address the issue of purity in their Thursday evening meeting.  They will divide by gender as well as by age (middle and high school).

This coming weekend’s services will be entitled, “Set Free from Immorality.”  I am rating this message NP16.  Each of you as parents can certainly make the decision as to whether your children are in this worship service, but understand that I will be speaking about sexual sin, particular situations, and their impact on our lives, families, church, and society (such as pre-marital sex, sexual abuse, pornography, etc).  I will not be vulgar or obscene, but will speak biblically and directly to the practice and cost of immorality.

Of course, as we seek God’s hand of healing and purification, we must remember that it is only the saving work of Jesus Christ, and His gospel message that can rescue and empower us.  Make no mistake; all of the purity training in the world cannot accomplish a truly changed life.  It is only in becoming a Christ follower and being adopted into His family that gives any potency to training in purity.

May we honor our Lord Jesus by embracing our salvation in Him and allowing His power to Change Us for GOOD in the area and practice of purity.

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.  Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1st Cor 6:18-20

To His glory in our body,

Pastor Paul
